Classical Music Has Effect on Radiologists’ Efficiency and Accuracy

Researchers at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD, Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, MD, and the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia, PA have found that Baroque classical music in the reading room can help improve radiologists work lives, potentially improving diagnostic efficiency and accuracy, according to a study

Eight radiologists were analyzed by rating their mood, concentration, perceived diagnostic accuracy, productivity and work satisfaction on a seven point scale. “The greatest positive effects were noted with regard to mood and work satisfaction, with 63% and 50% of respondents reporting a positive impact,” said Sohaib Mohiuddin, MD, and Paras Lakhani, MD, lead authors of the study. “Only one participant (12.5%) indicated a negative effect of music on concentration,” they said.

“Given the increased workload of today’s radiologists, we were interested in looking at environmental factors that could improve the work environment for today’s busy radiology reading rooms,” said Dr. Mohiuddin.

“Other studies have correlated baroque classical music with improved spatial reasoning, attentiveness and concentration and personally, I have found that listening to music aids my concentration and interpretative abilities,” said Dr. Lakhani. “We are currently performing a larger study with more subjects to validate these results,” they said.

Why Steinway Piano is better

If you are thinking of buying a piano, you should definitely consider Steinway and Sons. Steinways are very expensive, but you know, IT’S WORTH IT. Especially if you are using it for performing live.

steinway

Now here is why:
Steinway Pianos has a warm vibrant tone and super responsive. When I am playing a Steinway my playing somehow sounds wayyyy better.  The tone is so pleasant to hear and the key touch is so bouncy and soft. It’s like the Bentley of pianos. The midrange sounds very clear and the bass really kicks in just in the right tonal quality, and oh, the high notes has some piercings that somehow tasty to our ears. Compared to Kawaii and Yamaha, Steinway is definitely in the way higher level, but again, you just have to bear with the price.

An excerpt of the composer hand writing: Symphony no. 95

As a composer, Haydn’s finest works can be seen in the genre of symphonies and quartets. He wrote a large number of symphonies and string quartets. They have expressive potential of the forms for each movement was employed with great imagination.

With his sophisticated writing, Haydn never forget to include the melodic attractiveness (folklike simplicity/deep profoundity), unexpected chord progressions, unexpected changes in tonality, string changes in orchestration, and great skill in orchestration with highly colorful instrumental writing, both in string quartets and in symphonies.
